The Unsung Hero Awards aims to emphasise the dedication of non-medical staff to the founding principles of the NHS which include providing universal, equitable, comprehensive, high-quality healthcare that is free at point of use. The only National award for Non-Medical/ Non-Clinical NHS & Healthcare Staff and Volunteers who go above and beyond the call of duty.

Paul Siner, a project manager at St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust received the “IT – Leader Of The Year Award”.

Paul has been described by one of our judges’ as receiving a well-deserved award with tangible benefits. He has won for commitment to his role, his management skills and success in challenging circumstances.

The Unsung Hero Awards 2018 were hosted at The Principal Hotel in Manchester on Friday the 23rd of February. It was an unbelievable night, attended by around 350 people, which included the Mayor of Greater Manchester and the MP for Leigh; nominees and nominators; CEOs and the NHS Leadership Academy staff; as well as representatives from max20 Project Solutions, Barclays, Fortrus and Cerner.
