Unique exhibition inspired by language and print to launch soon at Eccleston Library

A unique and creative exhibition is set to launch at Eccleston Library this week.

Merseyside artist Kate Hodgson has been working with St Helens Libraries, creating new artworks and inspiring local people to get involved and create their own – with a particular interest in language and print.

For her latest project, Outfit for 35 People, Kate has produced a series of prints and performances which draw upon the absurdity of slogan t-shirts, and their ability to disseminate information.

Outfit for 35 People culminates in a group t-shirt wearing performance taking place at St Julie Catholic Primary School, Eccleston. A video of the 35 school pupils wearing the screen-printed outfits will be shown at Eccleston Library alongside the t-shirts during March.

The exhibition launches on Friday 15 March, and runs until Tuesday 26th March. Meet Kate and take part in a crafts session led by the artist at Eccleston Library, 3pm-4:30pm on 15 March. All are welcome to attend this free event, just drop in, with refreshments and snacks available.

For full details and even more fantastic events, many of which are free to attend, visit www.culturalhubs.eventbrite.com or pick up a brochure from any St Helens library.
