Rainford High prepares to spread festive cheer

Rainford High students wrapping selection boxes

It is all systems go at Rainford High as the school gets into the festive spirit ahead of its Christmas Fayre this Thursday (5 December).

The evening is in conjunction with a number of local charities and all funds raised on the night will go to these exceptional causes.

As part of the fundraising, the school’s special educational needs and disability (SEND) students have been busy carefully wrapping selection boxes ready for the children’s ward at Ormskirk Hospital.

In addition, a number of toys have been kindly donated by families and friends of the school and are currently waiting under the Christmas tree ready for delivery to the hospital.

Rainford High is also taking in food donations for St Helens Foodbank which will be given to those in need during the last week of term.

On Thursday, there will be a range of food and drink on offer, including an old converted horse box bar which will be located at the entrance to school.

There will also be a number of traders selling festive goods, Christmas presents and treats – making it the ideal time to start, or even finish, your Christmas shopping.

Topping off the evening will be performances by singers, the school band and dancers.

The Christmas Fayre will be open to all members of the local community from 5pm until 7.30pm, with an autism friendly half hour from 4:30pm until 5pm.
