The rather awesome Crafty Fingers, a business that offers arts and crafts classes in Thatto Heath recently celebrated its 2nd Birthday.
We caught up with Gillian McNabb who runs the Business with her mum Janet Galloway, she told us “We have reached the end of our second year at Crafty Fingers and what a great journey we have had.”
“Jan had recently retired from the cake decorating scene and within two days was bored and decided to set up a whole new venture. Transforming an empty sunbed shop we shaped the space into a bright and airy place for adults and children to create.”
“We were supported in the early stages by many new tutors who were keen to showcase their work and help to build our reputation.”
Some of whom have now moved on to run their own businesses.”
Our earliest tutors Angela Wilkinson, Sally Coomber and Sheila Kelly still remain with us reinventing their classes to offer new and exciting ideas.”
“Cake decorating became very successful so we now employ two extra tutors, Diane Stringfellow and Kath Riley.”
“We adapted the centre as we went along and soon started to cater for children with a passion for developing their love of arts and crafts.”
“We have pottery classes, art, photography, sewing, book folding, quilling and a huge range of cake decorating classes. We have regular birthday parties and we also host bridal parties for a spot of crafting with afternoon tea.We are always looking for new tutors and new ideas.”
“The centre remains a great focal point in the community and we have had great feedback to say what a unique business we have and how lovely our centre looks when you drive past. ”
“We love our business in St Helens and the support from local people has been amazing. Our involvement with St Helens Unlimited and their Twitter hour project #sthelenshour has really helped us to reach a wider audience and we have made some great connections.”
