Rick Astley has launched his own beer which celebrates the Newton-le-Willows singer’s northern roots.
The star, who found fame in the 80s with hit Never Gonna Give You Up, has brewed his own beer with the Danish microbrewery Mikkeller.
The 51-year-old popstar has called the drink ‘Astley’s Northern Hop’, which he says is a reflection of his pride in his roots.
And ‘hop’ has a double-meaning, being a common 50s expression for a dance as well as a beer ingredient.
The beverage, which was launched in April, came about following rumours the singer lived in Amager in Copenhagen, the Danish capital.
