Mill Green School are looking to raise £500 to help send a group of Special Needs students on a exchange visit with their partner school in Stuttgart, Germany.
Victoria Kelly, a Level 3 Teaching Assistant at the school said “Mill Green is a small Special Needs School in Parr, St Helens catering for students aged 14-19 years old.”
“I am hoping to complete an 8 hour Classathon on Saturday 27th May to help raise funds to take a group of Specials Needs students on an exchange visit with Gustav Werner Schule, our partner school, in Stuttgart, Germany. This will comprise of 8 hours of fitness classes back to back from 11.30am until 7.30pm.”
“Mill Green was the first SEN school in the UK to partake in a foreign exchange visit with another SEN school and originally had funding from Comenius. The visit was so successful that other schools were advised to apply and we were used as a role model. We are no longer able to get funding and are trying to raise funds to continue the important links that we have established”
“Whilst I am no athlete, this is especially important to me as it was my mum who originally set up the exchange links and secured the original funding. Unfortunately she had to retire after developing Ovarian Cancer so from a personal point of view, I would like to raise as much as possible to continue the effort in her honour.”
“We have been fundraising and have already raised some towards it but still have around £4000 left to go, so £500 would be a great amount to help reach our final target”
“I appreciate any help that anyone can give and thank everyone in advance”
