Help Available For Those Over 60

The John and Margaret Wootton Charitable Trust was setup to help those aged over 60 living in Haydock/Newton-le-Willows but has now been extended to cover Merseyside and Greater Manchester. Priority is given to those with mental health problems.

Grants are given on a “one-off” basis to assist individuals with a specific issue e.g. replacement white goods, carpets, sofas etc or to assist in the provision of respite care/convalescence.

The Trustees (Barclays Trust Company Ltd, based at Northwich in Cheshire) will consider other requests. Sponsors such as charities or social services should apply on behalf of individuals.

Funds will be remitted to the Sponsors who should ensure the grants are used for the purpose agreed and that receipts are provided, where possible.
