It’s time to hail our local heroes!

This is a great opportunity to recognise and reward ordinary people’s extraordinary achievements and to marvel at their moving and motivational stories. Just a few days left to nominate, and I know we’ve got plenty of people across the Borough who could win these awards!

The culmination of this year’s ECHO awards will be a glittering ceremony at Liverpool’s Titanic Hotel, hosted – for the sixth time – by original Big Brother winner Craig Phillips. And Craig is urging readers to put forward the names of those people who deserve to be highlighted and hailed as local heroes.

He said: “I love the ECHO Awards and being a part of them – getting the chance to meet so many deserving people. It is always such a great occasion with so many touching stories.

“These stories bring tears to my eyes when I read them before the ceremony, and I always have to prepare myself by breaking up the script into sections. To stop myself from breaking down in tears, I will regularly stop and take a deep breath so I am able to carry on.”
