Newton Town Show. Prepare to be amazed when the Newton Town Show returns to Mesnes Park. Highlights of this year’s event include a motorbike display team, thrilling helicopter tours, a spectacular parachute display, the traditional tug o’ war –and military action through firing displays by Royal Artillery 103 Regiment and a First World War battle re-enactment. 11Am to 5pm.

Family fun day in aid of st helens uniform bank and swap shop. Gerard Arms, Dentons Green. 2pm.

Clock Face Summer Fair. Midday onwards. Clock Face Pub and Restaurant, 408 Clock Face Road.

St Helens Open Art Exhibition. This year’s exhibition is bigger and better than ever. The Open Art competition aims to encourage and support local artists of all abilities, as well as promoting excellence, talent and creativity within the borough. SUNDAY 6TH AUGUST

A new weekly Sunday Market at Haydock Park Racecourse kicks off today. 9am – 4pm. Features a wide range of stalls offering a whole range of quality goods for great prices from food, clothes, furniture, garden plants, crafts, household goods & much, much more! Children’s entertainment and food & drink outlets will also feature in this new weekly market. The weekly Sunday Market will provide free entrance and free parking.

Summer Fair At Holiday Inn Haydock. Calling all mums and dads save Sunday 6th August in your diaries and come along to our Summer Fair at Holiday Inn Haydock M6 J23! There will be inflatables, games and plenty more to keep everyone happy and best of all, it’s FREE! Midday to 4pm.
