Museum – Two great galleries to explore.
The Glass Roots Gallery explains the history of glass with artifacts dating back to Ancient Egypt from 3000 years BC. With Glass from all around the world across many centuries, you will see how glass has played a very important part in our everyday life
The Earth into Light Gallery tells the story of what made St. Helens great from its humble beginnings to its rise a world leader in Glass making. But St. Helens isn’t only Glass, there was a thriving coal community. Plus you can find out what the connection is between a cold remedy and classical music. Ever wondered what life was like in a Victorian town? Step into St Helens past and relive life in the town in the last century.
Live glassblowing demonstrations daily at 12 noon, 13.45pm and 3pm.
Experience their three screen film show complete with sound effects.
Victorian Furnace and Underground Tunnels.
Explore the underground tunnels of the worlds first continuous regenerative glass making furnace built in 1887 by William Windle Pilkington

Manchester Airport Chandelier – Glass & Glamour…..Reminisce about the age of glamour and air travel. Conserved and rehung in 2008 this 2 tonne beauty will take your breath away.
Art Galleries – Gallery One and The Godfrey Pilkington Gallery are both showing the Open Art Exhibition at present. All the work is from people across the Borough of St Helens. The Borough is home to some amazingly talented people.
Shop, Eat and Relax – Treat yourself with some retail therapy in their Artisan Gift Shop and Level One Gallery. They have a great canal-side cafe with delicious home cooked food.
