Each year The World of Glass Arts and Heritage Centre runs a drawing exhibition to coincide with THE BIG DRAW in October.
This year’s exhibition ‘Drawing The Collection’ will look at the link between museum collections. museum buildings. heritage sites and drawing.
Artists throughout history have studied ‘antiques. antiquities and artefacts’ as a primary source for developing their drawing skills and have become a useful resource of recording the past.
Working with regional collections and buildings. how can modern day artists draw inspiration from the past to create unique pieces of art for the future as either a record or interpretation.
If you are interested in taking part they are offering a day pass to all artists to come and view their galleries. collections and buildings as either a ‘day of inspiration’ or to work on your piece.
Inspiration can be taken from any collections within the Northwest region and we would ask that for each piece submitted the artist also has an accompanying paragraph explaining what inspired them and from which collection.
Whilst they class drawing as pencil and paper we will also look at pieces created in other mediums that show the drawing process.
