A Level Results Day – Student Reactions

St Helens College A Level Academy Student Successes

Shannon Heaton
A*, A*, B in Psychology, Sociology and Law
“I am absolutely made up with my grades, especially as these contribute to the area of work that I would like to launch my career in. Studying at the A Level Academy has developed my confidence, independence and academic ability, in preparation for my Psychology degree at The University of Manchester. I am hoping to one day become a psychologist.”

Damon Frodsham
A, B, C in Business, History and Biology
“I’m so happy that I’ve achieved ABC in Business, History and Biology. I can honestly say that studying at the A Level Academy is the best decision that I’ve ever made. Originally, I wanted to pursue a career as an Air Crewman but unfortunately having asthma prevented me from doing this, so I decided to look at another route that would fuel my interest in business. Not only have I made some amazing friends but I have secured a place at my first choice university, University of Liverpool, studying International Business. I hope to work within accounting or finance one day.”

Mohamed Ahtash
B, B, B in Politics, History and Sociology
“Having the opportunity to experience different cultures and customs in other countries such as Libya and the USA is what initially sparked my interest in global diplomatic and political issues and studying at the A Level Academy has further fuelled this. The tutors are so supportive and encourage us to aim higher and the smaller class sizes ensure everyone knows each other! I have now accepted an offer to study Politics at University of East Anglia and once I have graduated, I hope to work for the Diplomatic Service.”

Liam Robertson
A, C, C in Politics, History and Sociology
“My grades have enabled me to secure a place at University of Leicester studying History and Politics. Studying at the A Level Academy has helped me to realise my dream of a future career with the Civil Service. I hope to work within the Foreign Office department, dealing with trade negotiations.”
