St. Helens punk band Flat Back Four have organised a gig at the Rendezvous Pub on Church Street in the Town Centre this Saturday, 16th September, to collect food for the St. Helens Foodbank.
This is the fifth year they have staged the bash, which always features original bands who tour the UK and beyond. On average, they have collected 20 shopping bags of food at each gig.
Flat Back Four’s Ste Lingard said: “It is terrible that there are people in our community who can’t afford to feed themselves. We can help by supporting St. Helens foodbank: just bring some tins or packets of dried food to the gig – let’s do a bit of good as well as having a good night.”

Ste added “This year’s line-up is: Only Strangers, who will be travelling up from Staffordshire; Crocodile God from Liverpool, who played several Peel sessions for the BBC in the 1990s; Rasta4eyes, playing a very rare hometown gig; and ourselves, Flat Back Four.”
Flat Back Four were founded by Ste Lingard in 2004 and have since played more than 400 gigs across 10 countries. They only play in St. Helens twice each year: at the annual Rondy bash in September, and with a ‘stripped down’ set at The George in February.
