The latest timetable of free trail walks from the Go Active team has been released.
All of the walks get you to, and through, places you wouldn’t think existed, beautiful views, fantastic wildlife, all this is on your doorstep.
Great weekly session to get active as well as meeting new people on the same path as you. All abilities welcome. Walks take place on Fridays from 8.30am to 10.30am
Crank Caverns trail walk, meeting at Toby Carvery (waterside), Carr Mill, WA11-7LX
5-mile slightly strenuous green belt trail walk around crank caverns.
Sankey Canal trail walk, meeting at the Ship Inn, Blackbrook, WA11 0AB
5-6- mile flat trail walk down the sankey canal & leading towards the 9 arches.
Billinge trail walk, meeting at roby well way, off rainford road, billinge, WN5 7PP
6-mile strenuous trail around hills of billinge leading up the beacon.
The dream trail walk, meeting at jubits lane car park, opposite king george’s paying fields, sutton manor, WA9 4RU
5-6 mile slightly strenuous trail walk around the dream.
Sidings lane (kenyon’s wood) trail walk, sidings lane, rainford, st helens. WA11-7SR
6-mile flat trail walk around kenyon’s wood & local green belt.
Sherdley park halloween spooky trail walk. Adult pre-walk from 5.30pm followed by a family night walk from 6.30pm both from sutton leisure centre, elton head road, st helens. WA9 5AU
3-mile adult walk followed by a 1.5 mile family spooky trail walk around the park.
Sankey canal trail walk, meeting at the ship inn, blackbrook, WA11 0AB
6-mile flat trail walk round the sankey canal leading through the greenbelt up to carr mill dam.
Newton race course trail walk, meeting at (old engine public house) Newton Road, WA9 2JR
6-mile trail walk around sankey canal & newton land fill site.
9-arches trail walk, meeting at Wharf Road, Newton-Le-Willows WA12 9PA
5-mile gentle pace flat trail walk around the 9 arches & gypsy wood.
Billinge trail walk, meeting at the toby carvery (waterside), Carr Mill, WA11-7LX
6 & a half mile strenuous trail walk through Carr Mill leading through green belt up to Billinge.
Walk Information and Disclaimer
Please be aware that all walking routes have been Risk Assessed as to the effect of weather conditions to the surface of the footpaths used. However, the walking conditions may change on the day and we will endeavour to react to the changing conditions.
Due to the various types of foliage or undergrowth that we may pass through, participants should be aware of any issues that they may personally have, with regard to any allergies and reactions they may encounter. It is recommended that participants wear long sleeved clothing and other relevant protective attire where appropriate.
All dogs should be kept on leads when on Public Highways and Private land, especially on farmland. Anyone with a dog should please be aware that they are responsible for ensuring their animal does not impede other participant’s progress or cause any risk of danger to anyone. Please pick up your dog’s faeces as necessary.
Please wear suitable footwear. Well behaved dogs welcome. Weather appropriate clothing. Please bring a drink. Fully Qualified Instructors. Why not bring a friend, family or neighbour
