Luxor Boss Talks About Regeneration Plans For Town Centre

Managing Director of Luxor Estates, Paul Nicholson, was guest speaker at St Helens Chambers Networking with Professionals event held at Colours Restaurant recently.

With the Luxor Estates portfolio quickly expanding, having already purchased the former Tyrers building, Claughton House and Barrow House, Members in attendance were keen to hear about Paul’s regeneration plans for the Town Centre.

Originally a property and finance solicitor, Paul began his property development career in 2008, when he bought his first house, which he still owns. From there he has gone on to purchase several semi-detached dwellings before moving on to larger apartment blocks.

The luxury developer plans to transform St Helens Town centre into a vibrant residential community and a thriving hub to help unique start-up retailers off the ground.

Paul commented: “We think that unique businesses and brands will get the footfall back into St Helens.

“It is not necessarily the big brands that will make this happen. If we get unique offerings where this is their flagship store and you have to come into the town to meet them, this will generate the footfall.”

Paul talked about his visions of creating luxury apartments in the Tyrers building and Claughton house as well as retail units across all three properties.

After a short presentation, Paul opened up the floor for a questions and answers session, answering Members concerns about generating footfall and his visions for further developments.

“The format of the event was good. It was great value for money and an excellent venue.”

The event, sponsored by Beaufort Financial, gave businesses the perfect opportunity to network in a relaxed environment over a two course lunch.

Cindy Downing, Business Development Manager at Ascerta, said: “I think this is a great environment to do networking. It’s a very relaxed feeling in the restaurant.

“The food was very, very good, it’s a little secret in St Helens, and people should know more about Colours Restaurant. The whole environment makes it fantastic for networking. I really enjoyed it.”

The Chambers next networking with Professionals event takes place on the 22nd November at the Mercure Hotel, Haydock, with guest speaker Tomas Maunier.

Tomas is the founder and owner of Fazenda Rodizio Bar and Grill, he will be discussing the amazing journey Fazenda has taken over the last six and a half years.
