Every year the Rainhill Civic Society organises a competition for the best front garden. The competition is open to both gardens and displays in baskets or containers.
The 2017 prizes for winners and highly commended entries were presented on Tuesday 26th September by Councillor Trish Long, Chair of Rainhill Parish Council. In addition to the winners below the judges awarded a special prize to a non-entrant for brightening up the Village, The Victoria Hotel.

Mrs Bampton – Second in front garden category
Mike Manning – Second in containers and hanging baskets category
Pat and Ron Cockshott – Third in front garden category
Matt Gilsennan – Third in containers and hanging baskets category
