Chris Coffey who writes the Coffey Time columns in the Star which focusses on heritage and history, has announced that he is to begin a new show on internet radio station, Northern Quarter.
Chris said “My friends at Northern Quarter Internet Radio (based in Newton-Le-Willows) have agreed for me to compile, present, and produce a weekly hour long radio type show about arts and cultural activities in and around the Borough.”
“There will be chat, plenty of local music of all genres, and other things. Of course I will compile and produce it all at home, but regular meetings of people involved in any aspects of arts and culture will be useful to us all, as well as enabling me to record interviews, accept memory sticks, discuss ideas about audio soundscapes, exhibitions, events, etc. etc. etc.”
“It’s a new challenge and will combine heritage as well as the whole arts and culture scene. It will keep the little grey cells awake.(Re local musicians, 1868-2018, the oldest recordings in my collection are from 1910 and 1912, now available on CD!)”
