St Mary’s Infant & Junior School in Newton-Le-willows recently changed their school uniforms and they launched a recycling project to dispose of the old ones.
Fiona Ruddy, whose children attend the school told us more “The school uniforms couldn’t be recycled locally due to the school logo’s on them so the project arranged to send them overseas.”
“I co-ordinated the project with Deputy Head teacher Mrs Cunliffe and we worked with a Charity called International Aid Trust, who will send the clothes to children in need in Africa or Eastern Europe”
“We filled about 25 black bin bags with clothes and they collected them last Friday”
International Aid Trust have a charity shop in Lowton and their head office is in Preston.
