Neighbouring run club Kirby Milers hosted their very own 10mile road race on a Sunday and over 70 striders took part this weekend in one of the biggest turn out races. The superbly organised event hosted from start to finish within Knowsley Safari Park was a great for runners and spectators which plenty of striders supported also.
With so many of the field dominated in strider vests the short list of finishing times are: JonJo Doherty was third male overall and first strider across the line in an impressive sub 1 hour time of 58:51. Scott Robertson finished 2nd male strider in 1:06:15 followed by Kev Outten in 1:07:19.
The top 3 strider females all finished within 90 minutes: Emma Callery was 1st female strider to cross the line in 1:14:31 followed by Wendy Davies in 1:18:40 and Ruth Bedford 1:22:51
Even more striders raced in different locations this weekend; firstly Rob Andrews took part in the Chester Metric marathon in a time of 2:19. Whilst Peter Teeling completed the Alder Hey 10k in a time of 49:14.
