St Helens Sports Development have announced their Autumn Youth Sports programme for young people to take part in.
Over the past six months, nearly 3000 young people from across the borough have took part in the vibrant and varied programme which includes events such as dance , boxing, fitness, cheerleading, basketball, break dancing, female football, trampolining, roller skating, parkour free running, and female rugby, to name a few.
Not only are young people encouraged to participate, they can volunteer and gain qualifications when attending sessions which has led to many young people gaining qualifications and running the Parkour session on a Thursday night at Sutton leisure Centre.
Councillor Sue Murphy, portfolio holder for libraries and leisure said: “This is a great programme that we have in St Helens, ensuring that our youth can access so many diverse activities and I look forward to seeing many more young people using this wonderful programme in the future.”
