Business Owners – Could You Help A Young Person To Fulfil Their Potential?

The Prince’s Trust Team Programme is a 12-week personal development course for 16 to 25-year-olds, which offers work experience, qualifications, practical skills, community projects and a residential week.

The course helps young people move on with their lives. It helps them work on barriers that may be preventing them from achieving in employment or education.

They pack a lot into the 12 week programme, designed to help them uncover their hidden talents and improve their confidence, as well as gain a nationally-recognised qualification, and develop English and maths skills.

Businesses – How You Can Help

We are looking for local businesses, of any type, who could offer a young person a 2 week work placement.

Here is what young people have said about the course

“Being on Team is one of the best things I have ever done. I have gained a lot of confidence, experience and happiness and have opened up as a person as I now never shut up.” Chloe – aged 18

“I’ve made some life-long friends. I’ve experienced things I never thought I would and learned some valuable lessons.” Shannon – aged 19.

“The course was amazing and I learnt to work with people, made friends and gained a real sense of achievement. I hope to continue working with the Prince’s Trust and help other young people the way this course has helped me.” – Emmanuel – 22 Years Old.

“I was bored with my life and felt like it wasn’t going anywhere. People around me were doing things and moving on with their lives and I wasn’t. Because I thought it was impossible for me to find a job, I wasn’t motivated and didn’t know how to change my situation. My life is completely different now and I’m happy it has changed for the better.” – Jessica – 17 years old.

“Before I came on this course, I thought my life had come to an end. I thought there was no hope of me sorting myself out. It seemed the only path for me was the wrong one that would lead me to a life of grief. Thank you to all of those who made this journey possible and who never threw in the towel on me.” Aston – 20 years old.

“This course has been amazing. In fact, it’s been more than that; it’s been life changing. Before the course I was abrupt and in a complete muddled. I was a shell of a person. “The main thing I’ve learned on the course is to believe. Not just in myself, but in others as well. I’ve come to realise that not only can I do things, but I can do a pretty fine job of them. I’m starting to move forward in my life and I’m finally becoming the person I want to be. My next steps are scary but I know I’ll get there. I’m back to college in September and then fingers crossed off to university.” – Sophie – 18

What’s In It for You

Obviously, you’ll be helping a young person who wants to change their life. That’s a pretty cool thing to do. In addition, if you offer a young person on the Team Programme a work placement, we will happily shout about the fact by writing an article on our website, and thanking you personally for stepping up. We will share this widely over Social Media.
