A panto dame at the Theatre Royal has launched the annual “Dame Donations” to collect presents for Children in Hospital.
We spoke with with Si Foster, the Theatre Royal Pantomime Dame, to find out more about this great idea “
“As a regular at the Theatre Royal, I’d thought about what I could do to say thanks for the fab audiences we have.”
“Last year, after just asking friends on Facebook to help me to collect warm clothing for a homeless charity post I saw on Facebook, I was shocked with the response. So this year I thought I’d try again, but for a a different charity and utilise the ‘dame’ role I had.”
“This time around we are collecting for the Childrens Ward at Whiston Hospital”
“With the kind support of Chantelle Nolan at the Theatre we will use it as a drop off centre for people to donate wrapped or gifts in gift bags, labelled with the age range (from 0 to 16) and if it’s for a girl or a boy.”
“I’m collecting up to the 18th December and with kind permission from Whiston Hospital I shall be taking them along with the Panto cast and staff from the Theatre Royal.”
