Latest News From St Helens Striders Running Club

Ian Chisnall kicked the Striders’ running week off on Wednesday 15th November, competing in the unique Run in the Dark 5k that took place at the Ethiad Stadium, Manchester. Ian was the winner of his vet category and finished 9th overall in a time of 20:27.

Saturday 18th November saw Striders taking park in the popular MoRun, held at various locations across the UK. Deborah Hill went to Croxteth Park, Liverpool to compete in the 10k race, finishing in a time of 1:09:17 whilst her sister, Andrea Hill-Jones went to Birmingham to compete in the 10k race, finishing in a time of 1:12:19.

The week ended on a busy high, with David Wilson achieving a personal best time of 60:30 in the Preston 10 Mile Road Race. Rob Andrews also took part, finishing in 1:14:19. Meanwhile, Daniel Cheetham ran on some challenging heritage trails, competing in the 13 Arches Trail Half Marathon, finishing in 1:28:47. Finally, Katie Taggart travelled to Conwy to continue her monthly half marathon challenge. Katie was joined by fellow Striders, Danny Fegan, Adam Pointon, Peter Medlicott, Peter Moville, Paul Carr and Gary Ward.
