16:36 was the PB that Peter Fairclough has dedicated so much to his training to since coming back from injury. Not only has he broken the sub 17 minute barrier for 5k but he’s also broken the Strider Club record for this distance also. The amazing achievement occurred on Saturdays Halewood 5k were Pete was the 5th male overall to finish. Also out on the course was Daniel Cheetham in 17:53, Mark Riley 18:39, Kelly Hamilton 19:33, Racheal Fairclough 22:18, Martin Farrah 25:00 and Kerry Riley also gaining a new 5k PB in a time of 25:48.

Also at the weekend was a 10k of two halves; were there’s a picturesque scenic route comes the undulating course underfoot. Despite this 3 striders Anita Hall, Ruth Besford and Gary Spriggs all headed to Langdale to complete the festive Christmas Pudding 10k trail race.
