Tigers Have A Snow Ball At Knowsley Safari

While the rest of the country shivers in the wintry freeze, Knowsley Safari’s two Amur tigers, Bira and Sinda, are having a roar-some time in the snow.

Stuart Robertson, Animal Manager at Knowsley Safari, says: “Amur tigers are perfectly adapted to wintery conditions as they originate from the harsh climate of Russian forests and frozen mountains which are covered in snow almost all year round.

“Amur tigers are perfectly built for the environment they inhabit with adaptations which help them cope with the changing temperatures.

“They weren’t the only ones who enjoyed the some colder weather this weekend as our European Bison and moose also feel right at home with their thick hides and coats to protect them.”

Enjoy winter at Knowsley Safari for less at just £15 per car and free entry to the foot safari until January.

Knowsley safari is open Wednesday to Sunday throughout winter and selected dates over the Christmas holidays.
