On the 25th January 2018, NHS St Helens Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) will be out across St Helens for Talkfest.
With the main event taking place from 5:00pm – 6:30pm at St Helens College, Talkfest is a day dedicated to talking to people about the pressures our local health system faces over the colder months and how we can help not only ourselves but others too.
Topics covered throughout the day include:
- A well-stocked medicine cabinet will have you fighting symptoms as soon as they start
- Antibiotics are not the ‘cure all’ people think they are and so probably won’t help with a sore throat
- You don’t have to wait to see your GP. The free NHS 111 phone service, run by North West Ambulance Service, or your local community pharmacist should be your first point of call if you’re unsure about a medical condition. They will advise you on what you need to do, or the NHS service you should see.
The event will end with a Question Time debate at St Helens College, where people can ask a panel of local health experts about winter.
If you are unable to attend the event, but would still like to pose a question to the panel you can do this by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, call 01744 624 269, or post your question on social media via Facebook or Twitter.
