Glenn Youens, the father of Violet-Grace has announced a series of fundraising events and challenges for 2018.
“On Friday 24th March 2017 our beautiful, caring and sweet first-born daughter Violet-Grace Youens, was run over whilst crossing the road with her Nannie in a hit-and-run by a stolen car. Sadly, our beautiful Violet-Grace, passed away the next day. However, our brave little fighter went on to save lives by donating her organs. Violet has also since inspired other remarkable people to join the Organ Donor Register.”
“This year, I will be taking on a series of challenges in order to raise funds for our local charity The Isabella-Rose Foundation, and also money for a concept called ‘Violet-Grace’s Gift’.”
“The Isabella-Rose Foundation was set up in loving memory of Isabella-Rose Parr, who was sadly born sleeping on 16/10/2011. Isabella-Rose’s parents Amanda and Geoff Parr, along with her grandparents David and Nicola Pope, have continued to raise money to help many families across the North West of England, supporting them with the bereavement of their baby or child.”
“Violet-Grace’s Gift is a new concept whereby money raised will be used to help families in our community who are struggling with bereavement of a child. We hope, in-turn, to grow our Violet-Grace family and continue to carry out events such as the Ride-4-Violet-Grace. We also hope to raise awareness of organ donation and transplantation; a subject very close to our hearts.”
During 2018, the Isabella-Rose Team and Violet-Grace Team will be joining forces and taking on the following challenges:
Heaton Park Half-Marathon (4th February 2018)
St Helens 10K (Violets Mummy will also be running)

Glenn added “St Helens is a wonderful community who come together in times of crisis. If anyone would like to take on their own challenge or fundraising event in memory of our two beautiful angels, they can get in touch via our social media pages or donate to our Virgin Money page”
Our thoughts are with all the parents who have lost children.
I look forward to supporting the fund raising in 2018.
