Rainhill High School are delighted to be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of their longest serving member of support staff, senior ICT Technician, Howard Jones.
Howard started working at the school in 1988 and recalls a very different IT provision at Rainhill than the state of the art system we know today;
Howard said, “It does not seem that long ago that I was repairing crown electric typewriters or upgrading the BBC master suite. Today we have over 1400 computers and servers across the site, allowing seamless access to electronic, ICT and internet resources.”
Howard went on to thank and praise his colleagues at the school, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank my many friends and colleagues at Rainhill High School for their friendship, support and their professionalism. I have found that no matter which role you undertake within Rainhill High community, you are respected and valued equally within the Rainhill family.”
John Pout, Executive Principal praised Howard’s service to the school, “Howard is excellent at his job. His technical knowledge is second to no one. He is meticulous in his approach, he works hard and has not had a day off sick. His contribution to the school has been immense, yet it is typical of Howard that he does not seek the limelight”.
The school presented Mr Jones with a gift and commemorative plaque to mark the occasion and wished him continued success in a role he has performed impeccably for 30 years.
