Soroptimist International St Helens To Celebrate International Women’s Day

Soroptimists focus on transforming the lives of women and girls locally, nationally, and internationally through education, empowerment and enabling initiatives.

2018 sees St Helens Soroptimists celebrate 75 years of support to local national and international charities and projects supporting women and girls.

As well as supporting projects like the women’s refuge, St Helens Carers, Macmillan Cancer Support and TS Scimitar, to name but a few, they actively lobby MPs on issues affecting women such a changes to the state pension age, Tampon Tax and changes to funding of women’s refuges.

In commemoration of their 75th year and the 150th Anniversary of St Helens, the St Helens Soroptimists will be taking over St Helens Town Hall on March 10th from 10-3pm to celebrate International Women’s Day.

The event is open to all just turn up on the day and enjoy what is on offer from mini pamper treatments, to information on local opportunities for health, safety, education and well-being. A chance to try out a new activity or do some shopping for unusual or unique Mothers’ Day and Easter cards and gifts. Maybe you just want to enjoy something to eat and drink, the choice is yours.

Admission to the event is £1 which will be used to support local charities and projects.
