It was a busy weekend for St Helens Striders with 10 club runners taking on a club favourite, Mad Dog 10k in Southport. Scott Robertson picked up his marathon training, coming home as the first Strider with a personal best time of 38:43. Carol Foster was the first Strider lady in 56:17. Notable mention goes to Ian Floyd who knocked 10 minutes off his time from Mad Dog 2017!

Jenny Martin was the sole Strider to travel to Blackburn for the 10k Winter Warmer hosted by Blackburn Road Runners. On a tough course with a 750ft climb, Jenny posted an impressive time of 50:43, finishing 30th female out of a field of 267 and came 5th in her age category.

The London Winter Run Series 10k saw Gillian Kelly join over 20,000 runners, posting a PB time of 1:20:15 whilst also setting a 5k PB in the same race.

Another solo representative, Ian Chisnall, headed to Heaton Park, Manchester for the 10k and despite battling injury still managed to post a time of 44:26.

The picturesque setting of Grizedale Forest was the location for the tough Montane Trail 13 and 26 races, where father and son team, Les and Alex Abbott joined Anita Hall, Ruth Besford and Gary Spriggs.
