Library Lion Roars Into St Helens Libraries This Half-Term Week

With many local children enjoying the half-term break this week, an adaption of a best-selling children’s book is set for a pride of performances in St Helens libraries, as part of the award-winning Cultural Hubs arts-in-libraries programme.

Library Lion will be roaring his way into local libraries, in an adaptation of the New York Times’ best-selling children’s book of the same name by Michelle Knudsen, presented by Untied Artists. Library Lion takes place at 11am and 2pm on:

· Wednesday 14 February, Moss Bank Library
· Thursday 15 February, Chester Lane Library

Councillor Sue Murphy, St Helens Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure Services and Libraries, said, “For many families, half-term week presents a puzzle; how to keep the children entertained. This family-friendly event – a beautiful story with songs, laughter and lots of joining in – is a perfect solution! Come along to Library Lion this week and discover all the excitement and wonder that our libraries have to offer.”

Each show lasts 50 minutes and is suitable for children aged 4-7 and their families.

Tickets cost £3 each or £8 for a family or group of four. Book online at or call into any local library to purchase tickets.
