The James Apter Friendship Fund was set up in 2012 in memory of a very special little boy. James Apter was born with Cystic Fibrosis and was sadly diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia on April 8th 2011. James fought hard for 5 months fighting his cancer, but tragically lost his battle on 8th September 2011, aged just 9 years old.
The James Apter Friendship Fund provides gifts and toys for the children who receive medical treatments on the Cystic Fibrosis and Oncology Wards at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
James’ mum Kim, who set the fund up after he passed away, is a close friend of staff at Britannia Taxis, one of our Business supporters, and they like to help out with things like this, so we thought that this was definitely a worthy cause to share with you all.
All the Britannia offices are a collection / drop off point for Easter Eggs to be donated. The St Helens office is located on Westfield Street.
The Easter Eggs have to be in the offices by 23rd March, they will then be delivered on 28th March. These Easter Eggs will go to children at Alder Hey, Zoe’s Place, Ormskirk Hospital and the Liverpool Refugee Centre. Britannia will be donating to this appeal and staff will be helping with distribution of the Easter Eggs.
