Britannia Taxis – Community Update

Britannia Taxis are one of our Business supporters and we’re delighted to give an update on their current community programmes and support.

The Buzz Hub

Formally known as St Helens Coalition of Disabled People, the Buzz hub is a fantastic organsiation that supports people with physical disabilities and learning difficulties.

One of their objectives was to have their own football team, which they set up a few years ago and they have been taking part in numerous tournaments across the north west.

The 10 team members have been invited to take part in the George Best Community Cup in Belfast in June 2018.

Britannia Taxis will be supplying then with team clothing to wear whilst they are in Belfast and also supporting them with donations of various sports equipment.

FC St Helens

Last year Britannia supported the team with pitch side boards and match day sponsorships, which will continue. In addition, they will also be the shirt sponsor for the under 7s team which has been set up recently. This will be for two years.

James Apter Friendship Fund

Britannia Taxis are helping and supporting the Easter Egg Appeal for this wonderful organisation.

The James Apter Friendship Fund was set up in 2012 in memory of a very special little boy. James Apter was born with Cystic Fibrosis and was sadly diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia on April 8th 2011. James fought hard for 5 months fighting his cancer, but tragically lost his battle on 8th September 2011, aged just 9 years old.

The James Apter Friendship Fund provides gifts and toys for the children who receive medical treatments on the Cystic Fibrosis and Oncology Wards at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
