The Remix Volunteering group are organising a clean up of Chain Lane park later this month as it is becoming unsightly with litter, the park is well used by families, young people and dog walkers.
They aim to make the park a more pleasant and safer place to visit for families and dog walkers, bring people together, reduce litter and help our local wildlife.
Why not pop along and give them a hand on Saturday 24th March, find out what’s on at Chain Lane Community Centre, explore more volunteering opportunities with Remix Volunteering/UC Crew and meet members of the 6th St Helens – Parr Scout group.
People interested in taking part are asked to meet at Chain Lane Community Centre, Blackbrook at 11:00am on Saturday 24th March. Sturdy or waterproof shoes are recommended and sensible clothing in case of wet weather advisable.
Litter picking equipment is provided and the community centre is available for refreshments and shelter.
The event was due to take place earlier this month, as part of the ‘Great British Spring Clean’ – but had to be cancelled due to the freezing weather conditions.
The Great British Spring Clean is a campaign with a simple aim: to bring people across the country together to clear up the litter that blights our towns, villages, countryside and beaches.
Keep Britain Tidy aims to inspire half a million people across the UK to get outdoors, get active and help clear up the rubbish that lies around us.
