If you’re looking to learn a new skill this month Get Creative might be just the thing, featuring at Haydock Library as part of the nationally-renowned Cultural Hubs arts-in-libraries programme.
It’s a national festival that will be celebrated locally in Haydock Library on Saturday 24 March, where participants will get to try their hand at lots of new activities, delivered by a range of volunteers.
Event-goers could develop their photography skills, learn to paint eggs and rocks, pick up a new instrument and make music with the Valley Brass Training Band, or even make merry with the Mucky Mountain Morris dancers.
Councillor Sue Murphy, St Helens Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure Services and Libraries, said: “From making music to creative crafts, everyone is good at something. Sharing your skills and knowledge is such a lovely way of engaging the community and being a virtuous citizen, so I’m grateful to all the volunteers for giving up their time. I’d encourage residents of all ages to come along and get involved – you might just pick up a new life-long hobby!”
The event on Saturday 24th March lasts from 10:30am to 2.30pm, and is free to attend.
