To mark the NHS’s 70th birthday this year , The Daily Mirror and ITV have launched the NHS Heroes Awards to celebrate the staff and volunteers who make it what it is.
Do you know an incredible emergency lifesaver who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to save lives? Or is your nurse or doctor someone who deserves recognition? Is your nominee part of the beating heart of the NHS serving as a porter, cleaner or orderly? They want to hear about fundraisers, mental health champions, pioneering ground breakers and amazing volunteers.
People are invited to nominate NHS staff and volunteers across 11 exciting categories including emergency lifesaver, mental health champion, NHS lifetime achievement and unsung hero.
The lucky finalists will be invited to a glittering dinner which will be screened as a two-hour TV special in May. Attended by major stars, it will celebrate the people who make the NHS what it is.
Simon Stevens, Chief Executive, NHS England said: “It’s great that the Mirror and ITV have come together to pay tribute to NHS staff in this, our 70th anniversary year.
“There has never been a better time to recognise the extraordinary care they deliver every day, often in very challenging circumstances.”
