The Channel 4 Production Training Scheme is open to anyone who wants to learn about what goes into making great television programmes.
Researchers work at the content end. You’ll get involved in the big idea, sourcing the information, contributors and editorial that make it come alive, and casting the personalities that ensure it’s essential viewing.
Production Training Scheme
The Channel 4 Production Training Scheme is for entry level talent who want to break into the media industry and are passionate about making television programmes. In 2018/19 they are offering 16 paid places at one of the UK’s independent production companies for 12 months. Roles are available across the UK in London, Glasgow, Cardiff, Manchester, Bristol, Brighton and Leeds.
Applicants applying for this scheme may already have a degree in Film and Television (or related) or have some previous experience of the television industry through running, work experience or short term placements. If you have no prior experience or education take a look at our Production Apprenticeship (below).
If successful, you’ll spend a week in TV Boot Camp to get things underway. Here, you’ll hear from graduates of the scheme and Commissioning Editors who’ll give you the lowdown on what it takes to succeed. Then your career in TV starts for real at your production company – but they’ll still see you once a month at Channel 4 for training to help your further your career.
The deadline to apply is Sunday 13th May 2018.
Placements will begin on 17th September 2018.
