Three thousand, six hundred and fifty days, a full decade of years, have passed since Stocks Hall Care Home in St Helens, first opened its doors in 2008 and welcomed people into the Home.
Celebrating this momentous milestone, Stocks Hall marked the occasion with a buffet lunch, including a celebratory cake and entertainment in the form of an Abba tribute act.
People living at the Home, friends, family and staff celebrated together all of the Home’s achievements and special memories made along the last 10 years since the Home opened. Laraine Prescott, Holistic Therapist at the Home says “It is fantastic that we are celebrating Stocks Hall providing 10 years of outstanding person-centred Care. Our philosophy and values, rooted in the Home, ensure that people living here feel well cared for, loved, and able to make Stocks Hall their Home.”

The Home was also delighted to welcome Councillor Joe Pearson, Mayor of St Helens with his wife Sylvia Pearson as Honorary guests to join with them at this happy event.
All guests were welcomed on arrival with refreshing drinks of chilled Prosecco, Bucks Fizz or orange juice, before the party got into full swing. Dotted around the Home were lots of special moments captured on camera on display for all to see and reminisce over by gone times.
Entertainment was provided by an Arts Spectrum UK, an interactive musical duo, which got everyone dancing and singing along whilst thoroughly enjoying themselves to well-known, popular Abba songs.
Julie Gaskell, Manager of Stocks Hall in St Helens opened her speech by thanking everyone who was part of ‘The Stocks Hall St Helens Journey’, thanking Mrs Sue Lace, Director, and her family for building such an amazing, inspirational Home. Laraine Prescott, Holistic Therapist at the Home followed Julie’s speech by thanking The Mayor and Mayoress of St Helens for coming along and helping the Home to celebrate this wonderful occasion. Closing her speech, Laraine says “It’s been an incredible ten years. Stocks Hall St Helens, a lovely place to live and a lovely place to work. Here’s to the next 10 years!”
A buffet then followed as disco and karaoke entertainment continued throughout the afternoon.
