Hayfever sufferers have been warned to prepare for the worst as weather experts issue the highest possible pollen alert in the UK.
The Met Office put out a red ‘very high’ alert for pollen on Tuesday, forewarning misery for those suffering with the seasonal allergy.
Experts said the pollen count will be highest in London, the South East and the South West of England.
The East of the country, the Midlands and the North have also been issued with a ‘high’ pollen count warning.
The red alert will stay in place for the rest of the week.
