Saints women take on Castleford

St Helens Women return to Super League action on Sunday as they travel to Castleford.

Mark Brennan’s side are top of the table after five games, but face a Tigers team that is just one point behind them.

The game kicks off at 5.30pm on Sunday at the Mend-a-Hose Jungle and fans are welcome to attend – but they must purchase a full match ticket as Castleford host Hull KR from 3:30pm beforehand.

Mark said: “Castleford are a strong team with quality over the park. I have worked with a number of the players there in the past  and know what they are capable of. Tara Stanley at full back in particular example is a real threat.

“We have been working hard this week to improve and will look to take this into game day. It will be a tough game and we are expecting a big crowd which will be good for the women’s game.

“In terms of our squad, we have moved a few players around this week due to injuries so we are looking at a few new combinations.”

He continued: “Finally, myself and the players also want to wish Faye Gaskin a speedy recovery from her operation and we hope to see her back at training soon.”

18-Woman Squad:

Pip Birchall, Leah Burke, Chantelle Crowl, Lizzie Gladman, Zoe Harris, Tara Jones, Sarah Lovejoy, Carys Marsh, Roxy Mura, Chloe Richardson, Rebecca Rotheram, Emily Rudge, Isabelle Rudge, Alex Simpson, Dawn Taylor, Jade Ward, Katie-May Williams, Naomi Williams.
