Do you recall the fountain that once stood proudly in Church Square?
We’d often heard lots of talk about what happened to it, so we thought get in touch with St Helens Council and find out the definitive answer and share it with you.
Steve Littler, Senior Assistant Director – Built Environment & Regulatory Services told us “The fountain was removed during the opening up of Church Square around 1991/2 but had nor worked for a number of years and had subsequently been filled and planted prior to its removal.
“Many of the glass panels had also been damaged. The structure was removed and crated to Hardshaw Brook Depotwhere it remains.”
