Management Buyout at Haydock forklift dealership

A Haydock-based forklift dealership is now under the ownership of one of its founding directors after the completion of a management buyout (MBO).

Sales director Andy Evans has become the sole owner of Global Material Handling, which is the exclusive dealer for the Cesab Material Handling range across the North West.

The deal also involves Evans signing a new three-year agreement with the European materials handling equipment manufacturer.

Since the company was founded in 2009, steady investment and growth have led to it increasing the size of its workforce to 27, supporting the materials handling operations of businesses across the region including Park Cakes, Lanxess Group, McBurney Distribution, Luxfer Group, Rowlinson Group and Primeline Express.

Evans said: “I realised the time was right to take Global and Cesab to the next level. This represents a fantastic opportunity for both brands.

“We have a committed team here at Global which worked hard to achieve record sales last year. We intend to build on this.

“With this new investment now in place, we are all looking forward to an even brighter and more successful future.”

Miles Griffin, general manager at Cesab Material Handling UK, added: “We’re delighted to see Andy take this decision and are looking forward to building on an already very successful relationship with him and the team at Global.

“Andy recognises the strength of the Cesab brand, having experienced record growth with it, and we in turn are looking forward to supporting him and the Global team on every step of their journey.”
