Motorists are advised that road resurfacing works on the westbound carriageway of the East Lancashire Road (A580) at Haydock Lane will take place this Sunday (19 August) from 7:00am – 7:00pm.
Works on the eastbound carriageway, which heads in the direction of Manchester, are due to take place a fortnight later on Sunday 2 September, with work taking place between the same hours.
Clear diversion signs will be in place which motorists are advised to follow.
Motorists are also advised to plan their journeys ahead in order to avoid significant delays.
St Helens Council wishes to apologise for any inconvenience that these two temporary closures may cause the public during the undertaking of these essential highway works.
