The school has seen increases in a number of areas. Students achieving 9-5 grades in English and Maths has increased by 5% from 62% to 67%. The number of grade 9/8 and A*’s has doubled from last year and there has been a significant increase of 5% in the number of 9-7 grades awarded from 25% to 30%. The number of 9-4 grades has also increased from 79% to 82%.
Student Sarah Fenney achieved straight 9s across all subjects, meaning that she is one of only 732 students across the country to achieve this incredible result. *
Sarah has been a standout student throughout her Rainford High journey. She has consistently exceeded the expectations of her age group and is a thorough natural talent.

Twins Evan and Zach Cunningham (main photo)have been consistent ambassadors for the school and real high flyers – evident in their wonderful results, with multiple grade 9s between them.
There was further success with another set of twins, Rachel and Hannah Twist. They both achieved grades between 9 – 7 across all subjects.

Principal Ian Young said: “Once again we are extremely proud of our students receiving their results today. It is great to see their hard work and dedication has really paid off.
“Many of our students will continue their education here and head onto our sixth form, whilst others will take different paths – whatever they choose, we wish them all the best of luck in everything that they do.”
Rainford High is an 11-18 school with just over 1600 students who achieve good exam results at both the end of Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. The school has a strong ethos of ‘Everyone Matters, Everyone Helps and Everyone Succeeds’ which the staff and pupils continually work to make this the day-to-day focus of the school.
