College hosts inspiring careers fair

St Helens College 14-16 Academy students were left feeling inspired after attending their annual Careers Fair, which proved to be a huge success.

The College welcomed exhibitors from across the Northwest, to help the students prepare for the next step of their academic journey.

The event was well attended, and saw an array of providers in attendance, including the likes of, The Royal Air Force, The Apprenticeship Hub, St Helens College, Just Childcare, Edge Hill University and many more.

The event provided the perfect opportunity for students to discover the different pathways and career possibilities available, as they made their way around the provider’s interactive stalls, receiving first hand careers advice and guidance.

For many it was a chance to follow up their interests and ask those all important questions, and for others, it opened their eyes to a world of career opportunities.

Aspiring Nurse, Emma, from year 10 said, “I enjoyed the event as I was not sure which path to take after my GCSEs. I want to go into nursing, so today gave me a better idea of what courses to do and what qualifications I will need.”

St Helens College 14-16 Academy Head Teacher, Keiron Tucker, commented: “Our careers event was a huge success, we were fortunate to be able to welcome representatives from Further and Higher Education, as well as local and national businesses. Events like these are a perfect way for students to receive relevant and impartial information to help them with their future career choices.”
