Starting on Saturday 5th January until Sunday 20th January, residents will be able to drop off their real Christmas trees for recycling at the following locations:
· Mesnes Park, car park, Newton-le-Willows, Park Road North, WA12 9UW
· Taylor Park, car park entrance, Grosvenor Road, WA10 3HX
· Victoria Park, Bishop Road, WA10 6UA
· Sankey Valley, visitors centre car park, Blackbrook Road, WA11 0AB
· Sutton Park, Marina Avenue, WA9 3TA
Residents can also make use of the Household Waste Recycling Centres, which are open every day – except New Year’s Day – from 8am until 5pm during winter. More info about them here https://www.sthelensunlimited.co.uk/2018/12/21/waste-recycling-centres-opening-times-over-xmas-and-new-year-2/
Alternatively, residents who subscribe to the garden waste collection service can have their tree collected in their green bin.
Garden waste collections will resume on the week of Monday 4th February after the winter break, on your normal calendar collection day.
Please ensure that if you use the garden waste service to collect your tree, it is broken down sufficiently and can fit inside your green bin.
Recycle your Christmas Tree with Willowbrook Hospice
After a hugely successful Christmas tree collection in 2018, the Willowbrook Hospice Christmas Tree Recycling Scheme is back for January 2019.
Their last Christmas tree collection in St Helens and Knowsley raised just over £1715 through collecting and recycling almost 100 trees.
All you need to do to register for your real tree to be collected is donate a minimum of £5 and call the Willowbrook Fundraising Team on 01744 453798, email events@willowbrookhospice.org.uk or go online at: https://willowbrookhospice.charitycheckout.co.uk/christmastreerecycling/
They are collecting from Monday 7th January to Friday 11th January 2019 and are able to collect from postcodes: L14, L28, L34, L35, L36, WA9. WA10, WA11, WA12 and WN5. Unfortunately, they are unable to collect from other postcodes.
You don’t need to be in on the day! Simply leave your tree outside your house and you can even specify where during registration.
By registering for the Willowbrook Christmas Tree Collection you are helping to ensure that the hospice can continue to support our patients and their families across St Helens and Knowsley.
