St. Helens Sutton A.C. duo take on the ice in Mountains and on the Beach

Last week was filled with snow and ice putting a stop to many athletes planned training and racing, but it didn’t stop two of St. Helens Sutton A.C. top female distance runners. Sunday morning saw Jade Smith take to the freezing west coast wind as she competed at the Southport Mad Dog 10k, but even the cold wasn’t enough to stop Smith from taking over 3 minutes off her 10k PB with a fantastic run of 44:02.

While further North and in the mountain of the Lake District only two weeks after being hit by a car, Janet Holmes was conquering the ice and snow that littered the Grizdale Half Marathon course, making up and down the mountain just before any more snow could fall in an impressive 2hours 52.
