Steve Rotheram, Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region shared his vision for the businesses and communities of the Liverpool Region at a Business Breakfast event held at Willowbrook-The Living Well Centre on Friday 1st March 2019.
Steve addressed over 40 local business leaders, members of the Willowbrook management team and delegates from the hospice’s board of trustees outlining key points of his manifesto and his plans to transform the Liverpool City Region’s economy.
Known for his passionate support of local people and their communities, Steve discussed the effect of devolution, digital connectivity and how projects such as the Parkside Link Road and the upgrading of Newton-le-Willows interchange will help improve transport connections, delivering local jobs and making positive social impacts.
Steve also touched on proposals to regenerate St Helens Town Centre which has recently suffered the loss of key retailers such as Marks and Spencer.
Following the presentation, Steve fielded questions from delegates including his plans for renewable energy.
