CBBC football TV show searching for young players – how to apply

CBBC producers are currently searching for young and aspiring footballers to appear on their new TV show, Can You Kick It?

The children’s TV channel show aims to find footballing boys and girls aged between 10 and 15 across the UK, who have the moves and are technically gifted.

The BBC advert reads, “CBBC is searching for the UK’s best young technical footballers. If you’re aged between 10 and 15 years old, have brilliant ball skills and top tekkerz, then we’d love to hear from you.”

How to apply

To apply, an online application form needs to be completed, and a parent or guardian then needs to email it across.

The aspiring footballer must also send a video of themselves showing off their best football skills via the CBBC uploader.

What happens next?

If you are selected, you will then be invited to attend a regional Trial where you’ll be able to show off your best tricks and take on the Can You Kick It? assault course, which is specifically designed to test all aspects of your football technique.

The 10 footballers with the best time on the course will then progress to the Training Camp and gain a taste of pro-football facilities around the UK.

“Only the most capable will progress to the Grand Final and one will be crowned Can You Kick It? Champion 2019, earning themselves a bespoke trophy, tickets to a top Premier League match, a double page feature in Match of the Day Magazine and the chance to star as a footballing extra in CBBC hit-drama, Jamie Johnson,” adds the BBC.

Trials for Can You Kick It? will take place from late April to the middle of May in various locations around the UK.
