Discover Colliers Moss – free guided walk

Colliers Moss in St Helens is one of the stars of The Mersey Forest – the story of its recovery has been taught in universities and inspired people around the world.

Situated right next to a power station, this was one of the most industrial sites in the country. Now, nature has taken over and it’s transformed into a tranquil green space with woods, lagoons and more.

This weekend you can explore the Moss with local naturalist Tom Ferguson. Tom will be leading a free easy walk around the woods and mossland and sharing his knowledge about the wildflowers and recently arrived summer visiting birds.

The walk begins at the Millennium Bridge at 2pm on Sunday 12th May.

There have been lots of improvements on Colliers Moss in recent times and it’s now a great place to walk around and marvel at the power of nature (and the hard work of both environmental specialists and a host of volunteers) in transforming this once barren landscape.
